1. "Safely" add media to the plex database directly
Any information regarding this?
Because I am wondering if the following approach could be implemented:
- make sure media format allows direct play on clients
- upload media to cloud provider like google drive using their software or third party tools
- add media manually to plex cloud content database
This way we wouldn't have any issues regarding failed uploads or undesired transcoding. Also if the filenames of our cloud media can be set manually there would be no need to use encoded names. Eventually one could automate this process, so that newly added cloud content is added to the plex library without user intervention.
Would love to hear your thoughts on this.
