Rather than transcoding in realtime or during playback, I’d like to be able to schedule transcoding to occur at scheduled times. eg. transcode all new recordings at 2am each day, when my computer is idle.
Plex Player for ATV4 seems to need the file to be transcoded before it will allow fast forward or rewind. Doing this at the time of playback just causes the player to freeze. Transcoding at the time of recording hammers the CPU when I’d rather be using it for something else.
I second this request, allow an option to have the transcoding of new TV recordings to be done during scheduled background maintenance or at another selectable time.
Another option would be when encoding for different codecs and sizes for whatever reason would be to have the ability to set the priority so it is low, and will only take priority when there is cpu available.
Excluding Transcoding real time for client reasons.
That is how MCEBuddy works, and it is effective.
I would also like to request this feature!
