Hi everyone, I’ve always wondered but is it possible during a movie category search all movies related to that word are searched? a bit like on Netflix in short.
Example if you search for Zombies you find all the films with the title Zombies but I wanted to understand if it was possible to bring out in the search results other films related to the zombie plot, for example the various Resident Evil that searching for the word Zombies do not come out in the search.
Is it possible to do this?
I would also like to ask a similar question with the search for specific Actors by entering the name of an actor, you will find all the films relating to that actor, however, they are divided into various categories of Action / Animation / Horror
I wanted to understand if you could do a search with the actor’s name without any category so as to immediately have a general picture of that actor without going to click on the various categories of films and understand which film you want to choose.
Thanks
No idea on the word search, but the actor’s movies is easily done by opening your movie library and the “All” drop down can be opened and select actor from the list, and the actor’s name in the subsequent list. This will show you all the actor’s movies. A separate operation would have to be done to search TV shows. You cannot get mixed results from both movies and TV
You can just search for the actor using the app’s “Search” function. Depending on the client, it may ask you to choose the library (TV Show, Movie, Other movie, etc), but it will then list every item in that library that has the actor’s credit.

it may ask you to choose the library (TV Show, Movie, Other movie, etc), but it will then list every item in that library that has the actor’s credit.
Another thing about Plex that I don’t like. It would be so much better if we could just see all the results together regardless of which library they come from.
That was what I meant by kiwichick, without any category in the search, all the films of the actor without divisions Animation films, Action films, Adventure films, etc.
instead for the search of the specific word in my opinion it would be a very nice thing (even if you would have to manually set movie by movie this thing)
It would be great to type a general word in the search engine to get the title of the example movie, Ghost out, and get all the ghost movies out.
don’t you think like me?

Yes, I do think like you. I was replying to someone else’s comment but I was agreeing with you. Yes, we should be able to do a search and get all the results together - not separated by library, genre, etc.
I agree as well. There is no reason to separate search results out per library. Makes looking for an actor in a show that I KNOW I saw in a movie, or the other way around.
Also, I decided a while ago to separate out the “animated” shows and movies from the live-action shows and movies, so now I have 4(!) separate libraries which won’t allow cross search result with eachother.
