Series Collection: Sort by Show Title, then Episode Number

I create Series Collection for Christmas, Halloween, and Thanksgiving (note: these cannot be Smart Collections).

When I browse this, I’d like to see all the episodes of a particular series together in order. For example:

1. 30 Rock: [first Christmas episode]
2. 30 Rock: [second Christmas episode]
3. Animaniacs: [first Christmas episode]
   …

The “alphabetical” sorting option for the collection only works based on the episode title and ignores both series title and episode order.

I’ve attempted doing it manually with Custom sorting but it’s incredibly labor intensive and buggy (it keeps reordering things somewhat randomly)

Have you considered tagging/labelling those episodes and using a smart collection?

It would require me redoing the whole thing, but more importantly individual TV episodes don’t seem to be taggable by genre

A search for “Christmas” also only brings up a few of them.

Use case: I have a collection for Christmas episodes of TV shows. To be bingeable, I want the shows in alphabetical order, followed by the episodes in release date.

Currently, this isn’t possible as there is only one level of sorting. I can sort by Alphabetical, but this sorts all episodes alphabetically by their title. I can sort by release date, but this is again by the episode and not ordered by series.

Other tools like Google Sheets allow for

(i.e. first by this field, then by another field)
