My PMS has a dedicated LVM of 600GB of space. The other day I started having issues with streaming and transcoding. Found out that the PMS had eaten up all space on that drive and stopped working. 0 MB remained on the drive for it to transcode streams to clients/guests. After asking in Ninja I was suggested that it could be alot of synced files in the Cache. I had no option to find out more about that (since it only is a check box in guests settings), so I turned of all sync possibilities for "all" my guests. Boom - only 4% of the LVM was in use.
I would suggest a server tool here as well to limit guests number of synced files or set it to a fixed GB setting per guest, but allow the sync feature.
