I’ve been trying for about two weeks to get my server migrated to new hardware, and I just cannot get it to work. For reference, the instructions that I am using are from this link:
https://support.plex.tv/articles/201370363-move-an-install-to-another-system/
I have migrated all of the data over from one system to the other. On the original system, I logged out and then stopped the service. On the new machine, I installed the latest download of the software for Ubuntu 18.04 and started it. If I try opening the app, it says “Unable to connect” to http://localhost:32400/manage . If I go in through the Plex site in my account, it says that it cannot connect to [old server name].
I know that I am doing something wrong but I can’t get what. The only two things that I can think of are that the old system is on Ubuntu 16.04 and this one is 18.04, and the server version on the old system is one release behind the one on this system - but I don’t think that either of those things is the issue here.
Also, the instructions say to “Sign out of your account under Settings > Server > General in Plex Web App,” however, there is no option directly there, only from the drop-down in the upper right hand corner of any page in the app.
I will be thankful for any help.
