Hi,
I am running PLEX on my DS218+ and I am watching on my FireTV 4k Stick.
Please note: no idea who is doing what, Front VS. back end in this case, so I try the Server category since the session is running there. But let’s call it “system”, front and back together for now.
When I was done watching movies, I usually press the HOME button on the FireTV remote and so I get back to the start screen.
In the past this worked fine. The “system” recognized that. When I started PLEX again within a certain period of time, the “system” knew that and I was still <> and able to process by pressing PLAY.
After some time the “system” recognized that I am obviously completely done. The session on the server ended and the FireTV app kind of reseted, so when I entered it again, I got to the start screen.
This is how such a program should work!
But not anymore since the last update (which is by the way a complete disaster. Using the old player forces the system to crash, the design is 
etc. but that’s another topic…).
Using the HOME button is not a way to work anymore. I have to use BACK again and again to get back on the start screen and then I am <> to use the HOME button to work properly.
If I use the HOME button like in the past to have a one click solution to end my session, the session is running for ever on my NAS - I have to cancel it in the dashboard each time. No idea if this prevents sleep mode etc. but in general that’s not acceptable.
Going into PLEX leads to errors. Either the “hourglass” is running for ever and ever and I have to abort it with BACK. Or I receive an error, telling me that the current session can’t proceed anymore.
So even if it is running on the server for ever and ever, it’s kind of frozen or whatever…
→ Is there any option to downgrade PLEX on all my assets, because that’s not the way any software should be supposed to work 
By the way: I am asking this again and again, but never received any official answer → Why is the new player so… ugly? Watching series in the past (old player) was nice. The screen between the episodes was well designed. The series-background was in use, I had a link to the former episode and the next one, including the text, all well aligned.
But now? A random picture out of the episode is used as a blurred background, and the entire information is squeezed to the upper corner? WHY?
