When selecting artwork for an album (or movie poster, or background image, etc), it can be hard to tell the quality/resolution of the thing you’re selecting (e.g.- 300x300 vs 1000x1000). Since all the images are compressed down to fix the little selection window, they all look pretty much the same. It is pretty disappointing playing music in Plex/Plexamp and the album image you selected turned out to be less than ideal and you just have a fullscreen blurry album art image.
Yes, resolution doesn’t necessary mean better image quality, but it’s a good start.
It would be nice if, on the art selection popup, there is text next to/under each image displaying its resolution. In addition, it could let you click on it to open the image in a browser window to review it before selecting.
A request for the same feature exists already, and it has more votes.
