Hello my name is Andrew,

I am a member of the Simkl team (https://simkl.com).

Simkl is a platform to track, comment and find all your favorite TV shows, Anime and Movies. More info

I would like to announce the release of our public API to check in the episodes you have watched.

The documentation is available at this address: http://api.simkl.com

Hope some of you will be motivated to develop a plugin for the Plex community!

We have developed some of the prototypes that are currently using the API:

  • Simkl TV Tracker for Windows - can detect with 90-99% accuracy all tv shows and Anime filenames. Filename search is not yet fully documented in the API, but let me know which API endpoints you might need it and we’ll add it there as well.
  • Chrome plugin Watch history sync for Netflix, Hulu and Crunchyroll and enhancer for the Netflix.com website (marks watched, plan to watch and not interesting inside Netflix website interface, adds IMDB, MAL ratings, etc.

Interesting alternative to Trakt, do you offer widgets ?

Not yet, but we’ve developed an API to get last watched arts that can be used to create your own widgets http://docs.simkl.apiary.io/#reference/users/last-watched-arts/receive-user’s-last-watched-art or you can use it to display as a splash screen in media server or wallpaper on desktop (update it once an hour)

So Glad I found this. Spent all day looking for some kind of a solution and found this thread. I have solved my plex/trakt issue plus I can import Netflix. Goodbye Trakt, hello Simkl

Found the platform today and will definitely be using it from now on. I also use Infuse to watch a few things that Plex seems to struggle with. Infuse connects with Trakt, any way I can get what I watch on Infuse to sync with Simkl?
