I used to be able to just tap the sleep timer icon directly and it worked perfectly and quickly (I use it all the time), but now there are all these extra steps and a really annoying bug on top, which means I now have to:
Open the Settings menu.
Tap Playback Options.
The menu automatically and immediately minimises??
Open the menu again, but at least it remembers where I was.
Tap Sleep Timer.
Menu disappears AGAIN.
Bring menu back up and FINALLY select the time I want.
I don’t know what this bug is or how to show it, but is anyone else dealing with this? Is there anything to be done? Thank you!
Thanks for report. Something is wrong with some of those option not just the timer. I see similar behavior with the Playback Speed settings. I think it is possibly opening behind the video.
I noticed when Swipe up from bottom of screen to invoke Picture In Picture or just minmize app, then go back to full screen or reopen the app or the menu appears
if I disable lock to landscape and do while video is playing with phone in portrait.
Concur totally broken in latest app on Android. Have to minimise and maximize the app several times to trick it into letting you select a sleep timer.. How did this atrocious update pass QA?
Same. The app will not allow the screen to dim, even if a movie stops playing or if I set a timer to go to sleep in 15 minutes. The phone’s screen stays bright, sucking up battery power. Please fix.
This may have been fixed in 2025.18 (currently available to beta testers). Have just checked and the screen dims then turns off if playback is paused. Sleep timer also stopped playback after 15 mins and the screen correctly dims and turns off.
Also no issues getting menus to open up to select a sleep timer.
