Why Wd Plex Serve is slow when is transcoding a small movie ( like 0.3x to 1.1x ) ?

The WD Passport Wireless isn’t designed to transcode - I’m surprised it’s doing it at all.
Here’s what the Plex Support site says: “The My Passport Wireless Pro does not support transcoding of video. To get the most out of it, you will want to use media that has already been optimized and can be Direct Played by the Plex apps you’ll be using for playback.”
You should use something like Handbrake to optimize your media on the Passport drive if you want to access it using Plex.
Alternatively, you could directly access the media as a network share using an app like VLC on a PC or Infuse on iOS, etc…
@botanybay is correct. The WD Passport Pro cannot transcode. Where are you seeing that it is? It’s possible it just might be remuxing the file. Would need to see the logs from the Pro to know.
