[SOLVED] Plex Media Server crashes after opening Android App

Hi guys,

I have a problem with my PMS, I am running the latest version available on Windows Server 2019 Standard.
I’ve been a few years now without experiencing any similar problems, but since yesterday I’m experiencing unexpected PMS shutdowns when I try to access it from an Android app. Player works correctly on my LG TV (webOS) and Windows 10, but when I try to access the content from Android, either smartphone or TV, it seems to crash and close PMS.
I appreciate if someone can help me.

Had the same issue today. Never had this issue before. Removing app data solved it for me.

Same problem - clearing the app data seems to have fixed it. Thanks for the steer.

It worked, I guess I should do it with all android devices linked to my PMS, I will test it, thanks again for the support.

it crashes server app while on plex via android and amazon stick … if you even try to reorder home screen it crashes server app. i had samsung tv apps crashing my server yesterday.

I was having the same issue, just clearing out the cache fixed the problem on my android phone. However on my android tablet I had to clear cache and data before the problem would go away. Not sure if its because the home screen was trying to pick up to many changes that I made recently to my movies and tv’s.

It’s just really strange that the app would crash the server rather than just app crashing. That’s a weird connection.
