Hello from Germany,
i switched from the Windows Mediacenter to Plex. I installed Plex on one of my two servers, and my live TV-Card (TechniSat CableStar HD2) on my other Server. Working perfectly together with DVBLink.
Then i bought a Raspberry Pi B+ model and put Rasplex on it. I was ready after about 10 minutes, including download and installation - wow. It's working good, but i have a few problems i could not solve by myself, so maybe you might help me.
- When watching live TV, it's not possible to stop, forward or rewind with Rasplex - why?
- I have some (oldschool) analog 5.1 speakers (Creative). I would like to use them, but they need front, rear and center/sub signals. In a german Pi forum they said i need to buy an external USB soundcard, what i did, this one: http://www.ebay.de/itm/301316975870
Someone said that would work, only the Vol up/down button on the top would not work, which is ok for me. But: I get no sound. I restarted my Pi, it said there is some new Hardware, but i was not able to read what the Pi installed, it was not shown very long. So i swtiched form HDMI audiooutpu to analog, but nothing happens. Any ideas? Would really love to use my old speakers. - It's all a bit "slow", when i push a button on my remote control i could count "21...22..." and then Rasplex is reacting. I know its still under construction, all i wanted to know is: Is the Pi not strongh enough (maybe the CPU?) to run Plex smooth, is it because RasPlex is in a early state or could it be that i did anything wrong?
- I would love to integrate iTunes. So i checked the plugin, put the path to the xml in it and saved it. Everytime i open the plugin and click on artists or anything else, my Plex server breaks down. Is this a known bug?
A short overview:
- Raspberry Pi B+
- IR receiver connected (for Remote)
- USB Soundcard (as shown above)
- LAN connected (DHCP, working fine)
