Transcoding is fabulous function in plex. However at nas, it gives hard time to the cpu.
Smi subtitle is not support on player which every time burn it to play.
So I usually use program to convert smi to srt. As you know that smi and srt format is simple. It is not difficult to convert to stop to burn subtitle.
Could you gives some function that can handle smi? Before burning subtitle to the screen, you can convert to srt or support smi to the players. I think that adding first way looks easyer. I know that some people already make plugin for that.
However, adding defult function on plex looks much better
