Can I get a few user examples of Sonic analysis storage size as compared to the number of albums it has processed on your server? i.e. 500MB per 500 albums
Server Version#: 1.23.4.4805
Player Version#:
Plex for Windows 1.33.0.2444-a220eae4
Plex HTPC 10.0.19042
Plex Media Player 2.58.0.1076-38e019da
Very little, once it’s done. Less than a small album art. During the analysis of each album, it will take up some space in your system temp folder because it is converting every track to WAV format for the analyzer.
I have finished Sonic Analysis of about 6800 albums, and Plex has not yet cleaned up 56 GB of temporary WAV files… 556 of them. I have the space available so I am not dying to delete them manually but I would like to know it’s safe. I am worried about confusing SA and making it start over, haha.
@toddTheGod while I was processing about 6800 albums, SA needed about 60 GB of space for ~700 WAV files.
This can only happen if you stopped the server during its analysis. You may want to remove those wav files manually then – unless you have an automatic “temp folder clearing job” set up.
Temporary WAV-files are not reliably deleted for me also. About 3GB are left at the moment, and it doesn’t look like those are getting removed.
I’m also seeing 100% cpu load instead of the 50% that were mentioned.
EDIT: Maintenance Window is over and one process is gone. The other Plex process still is consuming 50% CPU load, but Activity shows nothing.
