Sort by Audio? Understanding Audio Descriptions

Hi,

Recently upgraded my audio system to the point that now I’m interested in hearing the surround channels and audio quality a lot more.

Is there a way to sort the movie library or see in list form the audio channels/description of each movie so I can replace movies that maybe only have 2 channel audio?

Also where can I understand the audio descriptions…I’m familiar with basic audio layouts but I see all sorts of layouts that don’t make sense to me like 5.1 (side) or DTS-HD MA 6.1 … I am familiar with general speaker layout…this means the audio has 6 channels and a sub? that is not standard… is there a list with descriptions anywhere?

I’m okay with loading up the files in a separate app [Mac] to see this data quickly in a layout also…I really only want to inspect a dozen or so movies and learn more about what the formats mean.

also what would cause this, i playing original quality version what’s up with the arrows to 2 channel stereo?

Follow up, I have PlexPy/Tautulli, I can pull up this list of audio channels easily…I see that now.

I did my own lookups on what the heck 6.1 is and 5.1 (side) which are just versions of surround sound modes I had no clue about and apparently a lot of movies/streams use…now I know!

Now the only question I have is…why does the information overlay show me 5.1 → stereo?

Edit: Never mind. I didn’t read to the bottom of the thread before responding.

What is displayed in Plex Dashboard → Now Playing?

Is the audio transcoding?
