I have been trying to figure out a way to get the following out of Plex:

  • Open (browser or plexamp)
  • a playlist ID or url
  • a shuffle flag
  • an autoplay flag

That will, assuming all flags are set, start playing a randomized set of the specified play list.

Then, I can use this with something like https://alarm-clock-applet.github.io to open the app and start playing the playlist, at random, at the specified time.

I thought I might be able to do this with a plugin of some sort, but it seems plugin support has been discontinued. So that’s doesn’t seem to be an option.

Does anyone know of a way to open a plex playlist and start playing automatically?
