Stream music over Bluetooth. Is it possible?

Hi,

I’m looking to use Rasplex simply for music to be controlled via an IOS client.

I have several Chromecasts around the house that serves for everything else but I would like one thing simply to stream music to a Bluetooth Bose speaker. Chromecasts do a great job of streaming music but do not have the option to be wireless to a speaker. Obviously I can plug an audio jack into the back of the Bose from the tv but I would like to take the Bose into the bathroom for example.

The Rasplex would be headless and sit in my loft with my server and be always on so anytime I wanted music upstairs (house is not big so range would not be a problem) all I have to do is turn on the Bose speaker and start an album for my iPhone/iPad. Before you all say why don’t you just pair it to your IOS device, I have trust me. But with the amount of IOS devices in the house. 3 iPads and 2 iPhones it cannot remember them all and for example if my other half would like to play music but the last time my iPhone was connected it doesn’t seem to change over.

So my question is… Is it possible for an audio stream to be send via Bluetooth? If so is there a recommended dongle that will work with the Rasplex?

Please note I am based in the UK so any UK supplier would be very helpful.

Thank you.

As Rasplex is based on OpenELEC please read this http://openelec.tv/forum/68-audio/72634-open-elec-as-bluetooth-target-a2dp

So the answer to you question is - no, sorry.

Regards

Thank you for your swift answer. I will look at a alternative option.
