What do you think about an option to blur unwatched episodes? It’s definitely occured that I could potentially see a spoiler in the random stills generated?
Also how about adding place holders for episodes that either I don’t have or havent aired? Would definitely assist when wondering ‘if this is the last episode in the series’ google search.
A pretty good idea. I do wish to go into my shows blind, so I try to ignore episode title, image, and description. It’s easy to ignore all that though, if you either use the show level to start/resume a show, or the “Continue Watching” hub to resume an in-progress show.
watch.plex.tv, which is plex’s metadata site, I think does show placeholders for unaired episodes, including expected aired dates.
There’s an actual feature suggestion you can comment/vote for. While the thread title only mentions hiding the plot, the thread also addresses the stills/thumbs.

I’ve been using the watchlist. From when I first noticed the Watchlist and Discover features, I added some of the shows and movies I’m interested in to my Watchlist to see what it does. One of those things is to show the next unaired episode of a show in a “Coming Soon” section. So I only ever look inside Plex these days. Don’t have to google these shows on Bing anymore.
Unaired episodes showing in Watchlist: Coming Soon
An aside: I didn’t know about https://watch.plex.tv until your post. Makes me wonder what other subdomains don’t I know about them.
