Suggestion - Offensive Language Filter

I have been a Plex unlimited user for over 2 years now. I love the platform and I have brought many users over to this programming. I am also a subscriber to VidAngel - https://www.vidangel.com/ . There are some movies that we love and own, but with VidAngel we are able to filter the content of the movie if it is on Netflix or similar platforms, to bleep out offensive language or a scene that is too sexual for our kids.

Is there any plans for this to be a feature on Plex, where we can filter our own content? There has been DVD players out there for years that do it on the fly and VidAngel has been around for several years also. I think this is a huge market that you could tap into…

There is already a feature request for this. I will not bother searching for you because I think it is a hideously bad idea. Plex has no business in the censoring business even if it is under user control.

I like to see this kind of bad idea get its votes diluted.

So kind of you for speaking for Plex. Yes, I have seen to other posts, most of them have died because there was no additional posts on 90 days. I think that half of the stuff that Plex does is stupid and completely useless, like Plex Music, Live TV, and DVR. All are a waste of time and resources. There are HUNDREDS of companies already out there that offer these services for free or for a small fee like these. But if they want to do that, that is there thing. But to come out and criticize someone for an idea that is supported by millions of people and is a market hardly touched , and pretending to speak for Plex, is just childish.

This is not about criticizing the content of your suggestion.
That being said… there’s rules for the feature suggestions forum and we ask all users to abide by those rules. One of those rules is to use the search feature before posting in order to avoid duplicate suggestions that will distract votes from each other.
