summary not working when adding DirectoryObject

The summary text does not show up in my DirectoryObject, just the title does.

What Plex Clients are you trying to view with?  Also does the summary show up in the raw XML?

No more then that ...

Plex Clients tried, IE11, Safari 5.1.7, Chrome 33

Ok so that's Plex/Web only.  It's very likely that it doesn't even show that field.  I would highly suggest trying it in some other clients (iOS, Android, Plex Home Theater, Roku just to name a few).

On a side note I would suggest that people getting into channel dev stuff NOT use Plex/Web as a primary testing platform.  Start with maybe Plex Home Theater and go from there ...

So, I did what you suggested as to use Plex Home Theater. The summary now pops up.

I have no idea why web doesn't do it

Try going into the text type view (navigate arrow right past the last thumbnail).  I think PHT shows the summary in that view.  It's going to be different in different Plex apps as well.
