Syncing Content from multiple servers and backup

Hi,

This is a problem that I have had for years and haven’t found a great solution. My main server is at home, but due to work schedules I am often making/getting content on my 2nd server @ work. I have been using a USB drive to move it every so often back to the main server and its painful when you forget or the work machine is off or sleeping.

There has to be away to sync content databses. I have tried rsync and others, but has anyone found an easy way to do this via the network without problems, one drive or someother service that is a little more plug and play. Basically a one direction push of content. It would be great to do it with friends also whom we share servers with, why re-invent the wheel with content. I have GB service at all locations.

I used to use Qnap then build a FreeNAS, but ultimately for cost/simplicity and easier path to maintenance moved to MS storage spaces, its not perfect but good enough IMHO, and slowly migrating drives from spinners to SSD as the cost/benefits increase over time, its still not there yet when your at 20+TB. I have lost my entire DB a few times due to drive failures and these syncs with friends allow you to always have a back up as there are no drives capable of full backups easily when you get over 10TB. Even if you could only sync plex optimized versions and automate the process would be an awesome feature.

Are you looking to sync Plex or your media? Plex does not support that, but syncing media is possible.
