how come some tv shows play theme music and some do not when you click on it?? any way to make sure ALL tv shows play the preview theme song??

No, Otto was right. Just put the file in the main show folder.

it needs to be named theme.mp3
You must check your agent configuration.
‘Local Media Assets’ must be active and must sit above of ‘Plex Theme Music’
(But don’t drag it into the topmost position!)
Afterwards, Refresh the show. (the whole show, not just the season and not just an episode)

I’m having similar problems, I currently have 3 Tv Shows: King of Queens, Pj Mask, and the Simpsons.
The only theme music that works is The Simpsons. I named them “theme.mp3” and put them in there Tv Show Folders(not season) as instructed above. I thought maybe it was the mp3 file so i took the simpson “theme.mp3” and put it in the pj mask folder just for an experiment. Funny,Plex Media Server Logs_2018-07-30_12-47-11.zip (1.1 MB)
it still plays the Simpsons theme song and nothing play for Pj mask…lol

Hm, this one is properly matched with the TMDB.
Did you ‘Refresh Metadata’ for the whole show?
If that doesn’t help, try ‘Fix Match’ and use TheTVDB this time.
