Am I missing something or can only the main/admin user of a plex server see the timeline view of a photo/video folder? I’ve added a few users and they don’t get the timeline option, only folders. Seems pretty dumb and I likely just missed a setting somewhere.
All users should be able to see it, I think. I’m not aware of any setting to enable/disable it.
Check the versions of Plex Web your friends are using.
The issue is the same on any computer or mobile device. I can literally switch logins, see the option on one login and not the other.

I also installed Plex on a different computer, threw a few files on it and had the same issue. I think this is definitely a bug in the software.
Hmm, I see the Timeline option when logged in with my Plex Pass account, and when I switch to a managed Plex Home user. I do not see Timeline when I log in as a non-Plex Pass user. Is it possibly the same for you?
I don’t remember seeing anything saying that Timeline was a Plex Pass-only feature.
Well I certainly have a plex pass and the accounts I’m creating are for my wife and daughter (or members of my ‘home’ in plex terms). They would need their own plex pass and an invitation to join my home? This seems awfully dumb if it really is the case. Can we engage the plex folks on this? It must be a bug.
Bumping this year old complaint. I still have this same exact problem with all users in my home (except me the admin) using iOS plex app - the latest version. It’s been broken to my knowledge for about 6 months. Is this in the to-fix queue?? I have already tried reinstalling the iOS plex app on one of my home member’s iphone, but it did not fix i t.
In summary, although the screenshots here in this thread are old (above) since the app’s UI has grown, the exact same problem exists. I have access to the Timeline view button, but all of my home users (wife, kids) cannot access this button since it’s disabled for them. I can use my iphone, choose one of my home members, and reproduce the problem. From my home member’s iphone, I can have them choose my profile at login and they ‘can’ access the timeline.
