I finally was able to claim my plex server plexinc/pms-docker image running on OMV5.
I added all of my media libraries but most of them dont work as I get the transcode error (bit some do work) especially when accessing Plex Web 4.30.2.
When trying to access from my Samsun TV app, I seem to have better success but have loads of programs not transcoding.
Using 1.19.4.2902 Plex version.
The /transcode folder has read/write permissions and I have also checked and removed the noexec trick required by OMV5. As I say some work and some dont and depends it using Plex Web (worst) or Samsung TV (better).
Some players require transcoding certain file types but not others. Some players are better than others in that they can directly play more file types without transcoding. There is a lot of variation among players.
You’ll have to post proper server logs. Search the forum for how to do this.
Are you absolutely sure that the host volume drive pointed to by the container’s /config is mounted exec?
hi again. I will get the server logs over to you. on the second question, there is discussion on the OMV forums when installing that one should remove the noexec flag from the config file which I have done and checked.
Right now, I am using Plex Web and noticed that my AVI and MKV containers will not work whereas MP4 do. But on my Samsung TV, the AVI files work and MKV dont so thanks for clarifying that each player is different.
Nevermind on the logs. I answered your questions in the OMV forum and pointed out that you still had one drive mounted noexec, and you say the problem is now solved.
