Transcoding Directory On Another Drive Windows

Do you just simply set the transcoding directory like E:\transcoding in windows? Also what kind of bandwidth is required for this directory? Planning moving from a SSD to a HDD raidz volume but I could dedicate a a SSD to it if it needs that kinda performance.

Player Version#:

Precisely.

That’s depending largely on the bandwidth of the played items (or the bandwidth setting they’re getting transcoded to), and of course the number of concurrently played items.

Keep in mind that bandwidth for media files is usually specified in megabits per second, whereas the bandwidth of hard drives more often uses mega_bytes_ per second. (8 bits = 1 byte)
So it’s easy to over-estimate the requirement by a factor of 8.
