It’s my understanding that the guy who developed Transmogrify now works for Plex, which is why the existing plugin is no longer supported (Or works). What about having him develop it as part of the Plex product? I miss having the stubs for missing episodes and seasons downloaded from Trakt and some of the other information Transmogrify provided such as IMDB and Rotten Tomato ratings. If that’s not feasible in the free product, what about making part of the full Plex Pass product. I’m sure that would entice more subscribers.
First I want to say that I liked and used Transmogrify for quite a while. Then it went away and for a while I looked for alternatives that would be viable for me and really found none.
However after a fairly short time of being without I discovered that, for me, I not only did not need it but it had wasted more time than its use justified. I really have not missed it since I have not had it.
At this point I think that Plex should not put any effort into adding the functionality back unless they can do so without taking any time or resources away from fixing broken parts of Plex and/or finishing parts of Plex that, at this point, are not even close to being finished.
The last thing Plex needs right now is to spend more time on peripheral pieces of their product. They need to get most everything finished and stable first before they add more complexities.
Transmogrify was beautiful and made Plex so much better. Rather than a plugin, I wish it were part of core. Of course, I wish it worked at all. I’ve stuck with an older version of Plex on a different PC just so that transmogrify still works.
