Hello friends, Here’s a hack to a problem that has irritated for years now. You know how the screenshot for Featurettes, Shorts, Trailers, Music Videos, and all other Movie Extras is random and uneditable? Well, here’s the fix: Obtain by any means available to you a still image you want as the cover “poster” for the extra. Make a 10-sec video of the still image and name it as you would normally with whatever Extra naming convention you need, then load it into Plex as your normally would. The Extra will have the still image you desire as the cover “poster.” Now, copy the real Extra, overwriting the still image video, using precise the same filename. From my experience, the still image cover “poster” persists! And it looks sooooo much better than the random image cover picked by Plex! Have fun!
I don’t think that this is going to be reliable.
If your “poster” video is using a different video format/codec/dimensions than the actual extra, then some players may refuse to play the extra because they expect a different data format.
