was just copying todays tv in the the tv folder on an external hard drive and it’s just vanished from the hard drive (All files were read only), leaving 6TB of free space. all the other folders are still there and when i went to check the server it had rolled back to earlier version. so just lost the last 6 months of tv i’d addded. just re updated the server to the latest version again.
Have you checked what caused this?
Keep in mind Plex itself doesn’t touch your files with 2 exceptions that require your action:
- if you have enabled this in library settings, the Admin can delete individual items from the user interface of Plex
- you can configure shows to keep only a certain amount of unwatched episodes or delete episodes after they have been watched.
Considering you didn’t trigger any of those, whatever went wrong on your Windows machine could happen again…
have 6 externals and its the only one i don’t have backed up as it’s the newest drive. seem to have lost 400 tv shows, plus 1000’s of episodes of others shows, pity there’s now way i can find out whats been lost…
