How does Plex know the length of time a recorded tv show.
Are you asking for the duration Plex chooses to record? That’s based on the guide data, which determines the start and end times of a recording.
If you’re asking about the length of the recorded file (as in the finalized recording, stored in a file in your library), that’s Plex simply reading the technical details of the file.

Thanks. I now have a script to display all videos recorded the previous night with there viewing length. Which will allow me to know is a recording was cut short.
