How come there is no playback options to select a subtitle for a TV show like there is a movie before it starts? Can this be added please?

Not sure where you are looking but there isn't. Can you provide a screenshot?
Go to a TV Shows
Pick your show
season
click on the episode (with the middle button, not play button).
You have Audio/Subtitle button to choose Audio & Subtitle
If your show does not have subtitles embedded, or there is no SRT file for the episode then you won't have the option for subtitles.
You can try downloading the subtitle from http://www.tvsubtitles.net/ and see if it works. Remember the naming convention needs to be the same as the video file.

If there is no subtitles, there will be no options! Works perfectly fine for me. All the clients work in the same way, no subtitles, no options. Oh and no need to be rude.
