Unable to Delete TV Shows Library

I’ve recently migrated Plex to the official Plexinc Docker container on my unRAID server. I have managed to get my Movies library re-added and metadata/collections all straightened out.

Before I re-added my TV Shows library (re-creating from scratch), I made sure the naming conventions were applied to the 252 different series in my TV folder. Alas at some point during the scan to add the media to the library, the Plex media scanner appears to have stopped working.

As it’s the official Docker container, I tried the usual process of restarting the container, emptying trash, even adding another empty folder to the library and then deleting the original folder and again emptying the trash. Unfortunately it still won’t let me delete the library so I can start over and re-create it. No error messages - it looks like it’s going to delete the library and then it returns me to my Home screen in the Plex web client and the failed TV Shows library is still present.

Any suggestions as to how to completely remove JUST the TV Shows library?

Additional troubleshooting but still no luck:

  1. Optimized Database and Cleaned Bundles
  2. Renamed TV folder on my unRAID share so that all files would appear offline
  3. Disabled the ‘Folder Caching’ plugin for unRAID
  4. Re-scanned the TV Shows library - no trashcans on any of the items
  5. Tried to Empty Trash (mine is set to not do this automatically)
  6. Removed the paths/mountpoints to the folders for the TV library from the Docker container and restarted the container
  7. Re-scanned the TV Shows library - still no trashcans on any items
  8. Tried to delete library again and it still appears on my home screen, and when selected it displays 217 of my 252 TV series but all media is showing as Unavailable.

Next step: select all shows in the library and try to delete them, then try to empty trash and then try again to delete the library.

I’m not sure what caused it, but to simplify the removal, I’ve restored my nightly (early morning) backup for unRAID’s appdata. I’ve rescanned my Movies library and it has added the few titles I’ve added early today.

I’m now re-creating the TV Shows library - started with just 5 shows to see if the library is at least working and so far it looks OK. Is there a recommended practice for how many shows to add to a library at once? My Movies library was over 4500 items, and in my TV folder there are over 12,000 distinct titles - 252 series, most with multiple seasons.

So far so good, but wish I knew why I couldn’t just delete the library and start over.

EDIT: the 1st 5 added properly, and I just added another 15 and they appear to be working as well. I’ll do the rest in batches of 20 series at a time.
