Unknown users showing up in home

Server Version#: 4.50.1
Player Version#:unknown

Can you explain more? I checked your account and you don’t have Plex Home enabled.

I had 3 unknown users show up in my home spot – I have since deleted them but I was wondering how they got there — I have no “home” users other than my self … I read in another thread about google secure log in causing unknown users but why they would show up in home is what I am not understanding

What do you mean by “home spot”.

home bud like they were a managed user not share as in invite a friend

Still don’t know what you mean. Can you provide a screenshot of where you saw these?

User will be listed under either “Home Users” if you have a Plex Home or under “Friends” if you don’t.

Or do you have another Plex account which does have Plex Home enabled and I was looking at the wrong account.

Either way, have you checked your email to see if there is anything from Plex about a potential login from another location. Maybe someone got a hold of your account info and signed in as you and invited those other users.

you are right bud – posting from wrong account

hope this pic cleared things up

Ok, those are Plex Home managed users. If you didn’t create those then someone has access to your account. I would suggest changing your password immediately.

I did right after I deleted them – so this has nothing to do with secure google log ins etc – it was an actual security thing ?

Can’t say. I’m not aware of any issues using the Google sign in method. Of course, if your Google account has been compromised that would allow someone to use your Google account to access your Plex account. If you use this, Google has their own 2FA you can enable to limit someone using this. Or you can turn on Plex’s 2FA to limit access in case someone has your Plex credentials.

I do see in your screenshot that you have Tautulli. If you’ve enabled being able to access that remotely, make sure you’ve enabled the security feature, otherwise that can expose your Plex tokens which can then be used to access your server directly.

thanks bud,you have been most helpful marking this one as solved
