Thanks for this i got it working with terminal on Android because for some reason it doesn’t connect to my PC and after a few errors and waiting for Plex to respond I added a folder library with a 1080p 5gb mkv file and it works surprisingly well from my phone.

Hello, I have followed the instruction and got the installation completed but when i tried to click on the “web” interface and login using a account. I see no setting for server and in home button/page it show no PMS actief. Is there something I have missed? Your help is much appreciated.

Hey Jay!
Although I’m not actively maintaining this package, I update it every once in a while, but I’m personally using this latest release on my WD MPW and it’s working flawlessly.
I consider that there’s in general no need for the latest, bleeding edge version of PMS on our tiny WD My Passport Wireless, as the newest updates to PMS usually don’t add anything that could be of interest on this device.
Please consider that this installer package is for the “old” WD My Passport Wireless (non pro version). The pro version has an official Plex installer available in its web interface.
Although I’m not quite sure I understand what your exact problem is, my first advice would be to restart the WD MPW and connect to the PMS web interface again to see if the restart cured the problem.

Please be aware of the fact that I haven’t had the opportunity to test this release on a real WD My Passport Wireless yet.
As I’ve been warned by the moderators that I’m not allowed to publish installers based on Plex Pass / Beta releases of Plex Media Server, and considering that I don’t have a recent installer based on a public release of PMS on hand, I decided to publish this untested installer in the meantime to keep this thread alive for people who want to install PMS on their device.
I’ll test it very soon, though, and will update this thread accordingly.

Amazing !! Except … it’s not working for me 
I have the following firmware on my WD My Passport Wireless (model E2B) “My Passport Wireless v1.07.02”.
I can access the Plex interface alright, but I can’t do any of the two following things
- register the device to my account → after a certain time it just crashes
- add a folder to my library → I can select the folder (be it through DataVolume or Public) but it refuse to save it without an error message
Edit : actually while the registering process fails, I still can see MyPassport on my other Plex devices so …

I have the old MPW (non pro) version. Follow the instruction and installed without problem. When I click the web page for plex. it force me to login using a plex account and when I click on the “House” Icon it show no PMS. Restarted few time. still nothing. I am checking the webpage while connected to the MPW wifi. I will try again with your new installer. See if that will helps. If not I will let it sit for now see if in future can find out what the problem.

I recently dusted off my My Passport Wireless 2TB for a trip I’m taking next week and installation went fine and I restarted the device and I went to login to Plex and it gave an error message that it something failed and to visit the forums with logs, however, I tried again this time watching the log tail in real-time and for whatever reason it let me continue with the setup then.
So if you appear to hit a wall when you are trying to configure the Plex Media Server after installation, try reloading the page 
any chance of an update, working well but saying theres an updat
