As a server manager, I want the ability to leverage my GPU/hw acceleration when transcoding to generate preview thumbnails. Ideally, this would “just work” based on the chosen hw acceleration option from the Transcoding menu.
There’s already an existing suggestion asking for an option to use the GPU / hw accelerated transcoding (incl. tone mapping if applicable) for the preview generation. Please comment/vote in that thread in order to help us avoid distracting or cannibalizing votes. Unless I’m missing some unique aspect of your suggestion I’ll close this thread as a duplicate.
