Using plex only as a media player

I’m tired of plex freezing on my Xbox and Samsung smartv so I just bought an external hard drive to fix all the issues but now I miss plex because I don’t have the subtitles , artworks , and continue watching where I left up . So my question is in the future is it posible to use plex just as a media player no internet involve to play content

probably not.

try kodi if it is available on your platforms.

or VLC.

You don’t need “internet” to use Plex, but you do need a server (always on device that can host your media to your other client devices). This can be virtually anything as long as it’s always on, and connected to your network. A fairly cost effective solution is to use a Raspberry Pi (although you’ll be limited with transcoding ability). Alternatively many consumer NAS devices have an easily installable version of Plex Media Server.

Na I like plex only I don’t like Kodi interface

I have a pc and I stream my plex on my Samsung and my Xbox but lately the Xbox app have constant freezing, I have 1gb internet speed and Hulu, Netflix never lag . I think plex needs to get those ■■■■ together

How does your internet connection factor in if you stream from your PC? Or where do you stream your content from?

If you’re running Plex Media Server on a PC that’s on your local network, and your client devices (Samsung TV, Xbox) are on the same local network, then your internet speed doesn’t matter at all. The factors that will affect your Plex streaming experience will be your network device speeds (which will always be limited to the slowest piece of the chain- so probably any wifi or powerline connected devices), and if you’re needing to transcode your media on the fly. A bit more info about how you’ve got everything set up and the specs of your server device would be helpful.
