using pyplex as a headless pled audio-only client?

I've just stumbled upon pyplex: https://github.com/dalehamel/pyplex

Anyone tried to use this as a audio-only client? Would be great to use this in addition to rasplex just for connecting to the stereo and control my music via iOS remote or Plex web app.

Regards,

Matthias

Yep, two years old and I believe now defunct (may be wrong), you can use Rasplex headless just for music connected to amp and controlled by Android or iOS tablet or phone. What you couldn't do is run Rasplex and Pyplex on the same Pi.

that is a great idea, anyone found a way to run this for audio only ? plex should consider developing a feature similar to sonos, link “AudioPlex” streamer

Rasplex 0.7.0 can be used as a headless music system see post on Dual Audio http://forums.plex.tv/discussion/174494/rasplex-dual-audio-only-for-0-7-0#latest

I use a couple, one headless connected to a stereo amp and one headless connected to a Bluetooth transmitter for Bluetooth headphones.

well it’s not exactly what i’m looking for, i was searching for an headless client, not the rasplex distrib, because i have other stufff running on my raspberry pi that cannot be used on rasplex. Do you have any hints on how to install plexpy or another client ?

Googled is your friend, there are numerous audio players out there that run on Raspbian, try the Raspberry Pi forums.

Regarding Pyplex see my first response to your original post.

This is after all the Rasplex client forum, if your not interested in Rasplex why did you post?

Regards

well i did post it here because i just wanted to know how to run pyplex, i mean it is a great idea

as a matter of fact i just wanted to check if anyone have tried running it. The thing is i wish i had a plex audio client so that i can stream my plex music natively to this client, i’m not a big fan of other audio players because they are not integrated with plex

thanks for your quick feedback

For information, i just installled pyplex and run it aand i have nothing appearing as plex client, here is the log, it indicates that it cannot find any server, any help on how to enable the server lookup in pyplex or PMS ?
