I’m cheesed off with Plex support, I raised issue, provided all the evidence required and got acknowledgment that problem has been identified in house and a fix world be forthcoming yet I’ve lost count how many months have passed and still no update.
I’ll give it 1 more month and then I’ll start permanently switching over to emby as they don’t treat the Chromecast like an afterthought and direct play works sweet.
Just spent the last 2 days messing around with Plex. A whole day on DNLA profiles for panasonic tv which won’t support pause, fast forward, rewind. I gave up and tried the chromecast only to see my poor laptop trying to transcode a 33Mbps rip. I usually use safari so had almost given up (reading all about how they “removed” the 12mbps limit…) then I found this thread. The iOS app was causing the issue! Start the cast from chrome on the laptop and direct stream works perfectly. AGH!
