Video bufferin with Direct Stream and Hardware Acceleration enabled

Server Version#: Version 1.18.1.1973
Player Version#: Plex for Hisense 3.13.13 (Hisense H75B7510)
Video XML: video.rar (1.5 KB)
Server Logs: Plex Media Server Logs_2019-10-31_16-09-22.zip (209.9 KB)
Server specs:

  • CPU: Ryzen 2600x 3.6Ghz 6 Core
  • GPU: Nvidia RTX 2070 8Gbs
  • RAM: 16Gbs
  • Storage: SSD Samsung EVO 850 500Gbs (Server + transcode folder)
HDD Seaget 4Tb 7200rpm (media folder)

I always have buffering, no matter if direct streaming or transcoding. Can´t direct play because tv player is bad but I thought with my computer specs I could transcode without issues. But every 25-30 seconds I have buffering.
I even tried creating a custom profile because the HTML TV App profile doesn´t exactly match what Hisense says my TV can play but still nothing. And if I add SRT subtitles to the video then for sure I´ll have transcoding because PMS burns them.

I have also tested my LAN network with iPerf

Transcoder in PMS is set to

  • Transcoder Quality: Prefer High Speed Transcoding
  • Transcoder default throttle buffer: 60 (I also tried with 30)
  • Background transcoding x264 preset: Ultrafast
  • Use hardware acceleration when available checked
  • Maximum simultaneous video transcode: Unlimited

Does something have any clues as to why I have continuos buffer? I but Plex Pass to see if Hardware Acceleration with the Nvidia GPU would help but nothing.

I’m a bit desperate.

PS: I know that the best thing would be to change clients (Nvidia Shield or Apple TV 4k). I´m waiting for Apple to update the ATV to compare with new Shield

This says that the TV received the stream at a rate of about 1MB / sec. Your speedtests appear to be from another computer to your server. That won’t tell anything about how your TV is doing.

True. I did the test from a Pi in the same LAN because I don’t know how to do a local speedtest from the TV. Thought it would be the same data.

But your comment made me think. I have done another test from a laptop using the TVs RJ45 cable, just in case, and the results where the same as showed in my previous post.

I think the issue is with the Hisense TV Plex client because I tried to connect to PMS through the TV’s browser and from there, even though the video had the same direct stream/transcoding characteristics I had no buffering.
