Vimeo videos

Hi folks,

I have a stupid question. Can Plex play Vimeo videos that have been marked "embed nowhere"?

I'm putting together a channel that pulls video from several websites based on a common topic (gardening ;p). The videos may be hosted on Vimeo or YouTube or use something else.

Interestingly, I have no problem playing Vimeo vids through my channel such as this: http://player.vimeo.com/video/107628223 originating from http://www.ediblefeast.com/television/victory-garden-s-ediblefeast and http://vimeo.com/ediblefeast/videos.

But when I try to play Vimeo vids such as this: https://www.vimeo.com/moogaloop.swf?clip_id=107085262 or http://player.vimeo.com/video/107085262 or http://embed.wistia.com/deliveries/8fc4dcbdb2fa56f95bf339f8c6aa7c4a2f13b6de I get error msgs either telling me the video can't be found or the channel is not responding. The video is linked here: http://www.growingagreenerworld.com/episode126/ but these folks don't seem to really have a public Vimeo page like the folks above: http://vimeo.com/user26262379

To add another wrinkle, I can play this  https://www.vimeo.com/moogaloop.swf?clip_id=107085262 in a browser (outside of Plex) but not this http://player.vimeo.com/video/107085262 (I get a msg saying "Because of its privacy settings, this video cannot be played here.")

So this leaves me wondering if certain Vimeo vids cannot be played through Plex due to the owner's privacy settings.

Any thoughts?

Sounds like that might be the case.  To find out for sure take a look inside the Services.bundle at the vimeo stuff, it might shed more light onto this.

Sorry but what does “Services.bundle at the vimeo stuff” - I have no idea what you’re talking about.

It’s the URL Service code responsible for making Vimeo work in Plex. It can be found here: https://github.com/plexinc-plugins/Services.bundle/tree/master/Contents/Service%20Sets/com.plexapp.plugins.vimeo
