As of today, Watch Together is supported on Apple platforms (iOS and tvOS), Android platforms (mobile and TV), FireTV, NVIDIA SHIELD and Roku – make sure to update to the latest release. Support for web and other platforms to follow soon
My friends were able to Watch Together, but since Cast to any device while in Watch Together mode was disabled, that meant watching from a teeny phone screen. Not particularly fun or useful. I guess I’ll have to wait till you open for casting to be able to use this service as my friends don’t enjoy watching from their phone screens.

I agree, this feature would be amazing! I would love to have watch-together support chrome cast. It would be way more convenient than the traditional “1…2…3!” method when watching with family in other states.
I just want to add my voice to this list. I just watched the Lord of the Rings Trilogy (Extended Cuts) via Plex’s watch together with a friend. Aside from a few issues with my Roku TV and wifi causing dropped connections for me locally (worked flawlessly once I plugged the TV into ethernet), my biggest complaint was not being able to cast to Chromecast, which is connected to my projector. My brother and I ended up watching it on the Roku TV, while our remote friend watched via plex.tv on his laptop. It’s a first world problem for sure, but if I wanted to use watch together and my projector for movies, I would have to run an HDMI cable from my laptop to the projector and use plex.tv. Hopefully, Chromecasting will come soon!
I don’t understand why Disney Plus has managed to do group watch flawlessly. Even Netflix doesn’t have this feature.
Plex, please integrate Chromecast into it. Please
Would also love to have this! I use the native Vizio app, but if Cast gets it first I’m completely fine with that.
