Can I initiate watch together from either the windows app or from plex through a web browser on windows (and can I watch using either of those options)? If so, how?
It is not currently supported on the Plex for Windows app or Plex Web. Currently supported Plex apps can be found here https://support.plex.tv/articles/watch-together/
Is this feature in progress or is there a feature request/suggestion I can support in order to get this added?
I would like to know this as well. I watch plex all the time but never from any of the supported devices. All my android devices are mobile and who wants to watch on a small screen? Also everyone I know uses either the windows or web app. I use my tablet to cast to chromecast but this is not supported either.
So at the moment this feature is completely worthless to me.
I’d love to know when the Windows and Windows player if and when will be receiving this feature
It is currently being actively worked, afaik it is almost done but I do not have an ETA
That is fantastic news! Thanks mate.
Agreed. I’ve just got my newest PMS instance running on Ubuntu tonight and found that Watch Together was only supported on Mobile and media devices, but not through a web browser. It’d be great to get this feature working on all modern web browsers.
I just recently subscribed as a lifetime member to Plex - this feature alone may prove its value!
I encourage developers to release Watch Together for Windows and Web by the end of October, because I hope to host a Halloween Horror Movie Marathon. I believe COVID-19 transmission rates will spike in October, and I hope a streaming watch party will give my friends a reason to stay away from face-to-face Halloween parties.
any new???
