Hi,
I’m trying to find a decent way to get my non-tech and elderly mum to be able to easily find and play items in my library as she’s not great at navigating the Plex UI (that’s not a reflection on Plex - she’s just not device oriented).
The potentially best* way I’ve found is for me to add the show/movie to her watchlist (which I can do by remoting into her Mac).
On her AppleTV when she selects the show/film in question from the watchlist, rather than going directly to the item in my library (there is no other source) it asks her “Watch from these locations:” (with a choice of 1).
Questions:
- Can “Watch from these locations:” be skipped when there is only 1 choice?
- Can there be an option to always jump to a preferred/default location when there is more than 1 choice?
- In the new AppleTV app, will ‘Watchlist’ be a tab on the top row alongside ‘Home’, ‘Libraries’, ‘Live TV’ etc? (thinking of how easy it will be for mum to find).
- I’m sure I am not the only one with this issue; are there better suggestions/solutions for elderly relatives (or technophobes).
*The only other way I’ve found is to restrict the items she can see in her libraries by label but this still requires her to navigate from the TV library to movie library and I am looking for the simplest solution with the least amount of navigation for her.
