Restoring a lost feature
I'm in that boat of users who was sad to see weather become an unsupported feature in Laika. So I'm thinking about creating a plug-in (channel, whatever) for it. Wanted to at least get a topic started in case others have the same idea. I'm still looking around and considering an API for weather or just using and scraping weather.com like any other video plug-in. That could give the benefits of videos or Flash/Silverlight animation from their site, though pictures may be more useful and I don't think they can be mixed (really, why do channels need to have a single category?) If anyone has experience with weather APIs or is already planning to do this themselves, add a post and one way or another we can bring weather to Laika.
I agree. The weather section was quite handy and pretty cool since the weather in the picture changed according to the current forecast! Please bring it back!!
I miss the weather as well. It’s a nice feature and was really well implemented. Would love to see it come back.

Also might want to check www.noaa.gov it’s a really reliable weather site that a lot of weathermen (and women) get there info from.
