Webhooks don't pass any genre information for TV Shows

I was trying to do something a little unusual with plex webhooks today, and I think i discovered that I simply cannot do it, but maybe someone here has an idea.

First off, i’ve been using Plex webhooks for years now to automatically dim the lights in the room if i start a movie (and raise them afterwards). This works great. However I realized that there are several tv shows that I would like to do the same with, but only a small subset of shows. I figured I could add some information to the show (like a genre, or collection, or some sort of tag) that i could catch in the webhook, so i could effectively dim the lights, but only for select “important” tv shows.

Unfortunately, when examing the webhook payload for a playing TV episode today, i discovered that plex passes far less information about tv shows than it does movies. For example, no Genre information is passed, presumably because there is no Genre information for a tv show on an individual-episode basis. I suppose this would need to be something like “grandparentGenre” to actually be the genre of the show and not the episode itself. Can this information be added to the webhook?

I could add a custom director to a single episode, and grab that data from the webhook, but that would require manually editing every single tv episode to add fake director data, and that isn’t practical.

Anyone have any other ideas i could use here? Can anyone from Plex include grandParentGenre or something similar in a tv episode webhook?
