Webos Client?

I've got my Plex running on my mac, would really like a webos client!
Hi,

Is the android client source available ? I've got the webos development sdk and pdk installed here along with the Eclipse sdk plugin.
Have any of you started working on a webos app? After I killed the performance logging and reporting(from the factory the tablet was reporting via
wifi performance stats) the tablet performance improved big time. It's actually pretty cool. Webos runs on top of Linux, similar to android.
All I have to do is find similar calls to what you are using for the android app.
I'm going to start writing some new apps but I will be using phonegap. This way my app will run on Webos, android, and ios.

Anyway.. let me know if there is something I can use on the HP Touchpad running webos 3.2

I've got a complete development environment for it too! including emulator.

Thanks.

I solved my own issue. If you have a touchpad, if you have a mac running plex, install plex-over!!!

Install it, and contribute to the project.

This is awesome!

I will have to try this tonight. How does it play from the touchpad?

Could we have some screenshots or a video

Hi,

I’m one of the guys doing the AppleTV Plex client, and i also happen to be a huge webos fan.

Which kinda resulted in this:

Anyways, it’s still work in progress, and i’m afraid it’s not very usable since i can’t play any video.

I have some contacts inside palm and they’ve promised to include support for the critical feature (HttpLiveStreaming) which would then enable me to play video and all the planets would align.

I would love a webOS client for my TouchPad.

B0bben, you continue to be the friggin' man. I find it surprising that Palm would put any effort into adding new features to the OS after this mass discontinuation, though! I had hopes that Meg would overturn all Apotheker's decisions and bring consumer devices back, but it doesn't sound like they're going that direction at all.

I don't think HP would just change overnight. It will take a while. I doubt we have seen the last of WebOS. I have both a Touchpad and an iPad2. Really like both. Stopping sales of the TouchPad was unbelievable. Really nice tablet. Pled would be the icing on the cake.

From your screenshot it looks like you are using the 3.0.0 SDK. Have you tried streaming http with the 3.0.2 SDK? It might have the features you were talking about.

I’m under NDA, but the future looks bright re: the feature needed in core OS

A Plex client for WebOS cannot come soon enough...

If you need any beta testers, please let us know. I think that all tablet OS’s deserve a Plex app!

A Plex client on my TouchPad would certainly stop the strange looks I got when I bought it

Philip

Edit: A new os update for the Touchpad just arrived. Can Plex now work in principle?

YES! :)

I'm continuing to work on plex, but it's going slowly right now...
I'll make sure to pass you guys and early alpha version once i have playback working.

this will make my 99 dollar purchase so much better!

Heh ... given that the ATV2 doesn't have an untethered jailbreak, then perhaps the speed might move from slowly to less slowly?:-)

Hey b0bben, how's it going? The webOS update did bring HTTPlive streaming, a plea php version was working through the web browser now also allowing transcoded video.

Hope development for this is going well! I've got android on my touchpad and have tried using the plex app on it but it's not very good. Unstable.

:)

Bump. I've got my touchpad dual booting CM7 Alpha 3, but I assume the web os side is much more stable. Would love a plex client!!

Since earlier today it was announced that WebOS would not be killed off by HP, and instead they would continue working on it and releasing it as an open source OS, I am wondering if there have been any breakthroughs with this client. This would be the best thng for this tablet!
