Had a drive fail on my headless linux server that hosts only PMS and wanted to get a list of what was missing.
Have been migrating to new drives slowly, so no recent relevant backups or anything adjacent to recover from.
Went to use WebTools-NG “Find Media” to find what was missing. Since the drive died and can’t be mounted, I had to just link to the empty mountpoint in “library mapping” for that drive. The others are still fine.
“Find media” will process 700 of 746 files and then hang. I even tried letting it sit for long while, hours. It never finishes or lists what’s missing.
Is it that this tool is not built to provide a solution, to report the missing media and list said media in this particular situation (dead drive that can’t be mapped in global settings properly) or am I missing some kind of alternative or special settings, info, or setup?
I see! I thought Find Media was the only way. The way it read I thought the export was for exporting the literal media and posters etc only. Then when I figured out the spreadsheet output what I got out was… daunting.
I realized later the default settings for output werent in global settings and wasn’t using a csv standard delimiter (it was set to pipes |) and so everything was just in one cell on each row. I thought maybe I needed some kind of special viewer or maybe it was just for reimport only. Then I found the export specific settings, switched to commas and the output was interpreted by excel and I found the pathways!
I need to find the date of the last playback of a content by any user in my library, can I?
When I use ExportTools, it only shows the date I watched it.
Can WebTools-NG be used to export the star ratings for individual audio tracks? I just downloaded the tool and it works great, but I am baffled that track ratings don’t seem to be included in the exported metadata. I did:
ExportTools > Audio > Audio Track > Music Library > All Export Level
edit: I guess not according to this page. But there has got to be some way to modify the program to make this work, right? Any suggestions for a different tool? :-/
Thank you sir, I appreciate the guidance! Looks promising.
edit: Tautulli works great! No disrespect to WebTools-NG, but this is more in line with what I was looking for. Thanks again. I was able to backup my playlists too even though my current Plex database is corrupt and I cannot view the playslists through the web.
Is it possible to point the tool to a backup copy of an old plex media server folder? I recently lost a hard drive but was able to save a copy of my plex media server folder. I was hoping to use the tool to get a list of my old plex media content
