WebTools-NG

What distro are you using?

I’m using 0.3.12.898c1ee.

I was thinking OS here

Sorry. I’m using Ubuntu 20.04.2 LTS.

dane22 - first off, thanks so much for all your work on WebTools-NG! It’s amazing and I’ve been using it for the last few months so I can get a handle on my Plex library, collections, etc. I posted this in another thread but has the apostrophe issue been solved yet and included in any updated releases? I just did an export the other day and noticing that all fields with text aren’t displaying the '. As an example, The World’s End movie title is displaying in xls as The World s End. Again appreciate any response you have and happy to help beta test to help out!

Sadly, I’ve been under heavy work load for the last couple of month, so simply haven’t had time for this little hobby if mine :frowning:

So not there yet

Not necessary, but would be really cool to see information about transitioning or ā€œupgradingā€ from WebTools 3.0.0.

They are two completely different beasts, doing different things, so there is no upgrade/transition

The only thing they share is their main developer (Me) and part of their name and icon

I understand they are different, but is NG not intended to be a successor? Or am I wrong there?

I led with transition, as something as simple as ā€œUninstall WebTools, Install WebTools-NGā€ would be sufficient. I’m just not sure what all issues might arise from having them side by side? Would there be a default port overlap for example?

Thanks!

Nope, since it sadly can’t be, due to no access to the file system.

Old one was running under the PMS Plugins system, where NG version is a pure C/S based app, that doesn’t even have to run on the same server as the PMS

They can 100 % coexist

Released v0.3.13

See more info here:

This is very probably a very stupid question, but anyway:

Where does ExportTools fetch all its data?

It can’t be com.plexapp.plugins.library.db alone. For example, looking at the table metadata_items in this database you find at most 2 genre tags and 3 stars tags, a subset of what is actually exported by ExportTools. So where is the extra data coming from?

Thanks!

On a movie, select info, and then view XML

That’s where we get the info from

Well, yes – but then: from which libraries are all these data sourced?

After all, I want to manage those libraries, and obviously, it’s not enough to look at com.plexapp.plugins.library.db.

Well, you did ask where WebTools-NG got it’s info from

And info is extracted from PMS from the databases com.plexapp.plugins.library.db and com.plexapp.plugins.library.blobs.db

Well, okay, I figured it out now. metadata_items is only a short summary, not the real thing.

Hi all,

Apologies if this has been posted or if I’m posting in the wrong place, this looks like a thread rather than a forum.

Please could someone explain how I can use WebTools-NG to give me a list of all Unmatched media (Movies, TV, Music etc)?

Many Thanks

You can already do that using the regular library features of Plex. There’s a filter option in Plex Web to show only unmatched content from a library…
