Is there any status update that should be seen once you start an export? Mine’s been sitting there for 15 minutes with just this:
Status: Export in progress
Start time: 16:02:57

It should start right away
Restart WT-NG, then go to the menu, and open the log dir
In there, zip the log file, and post it here
I uninstalled, cleaned up folder remnants, re-installed and now it appears to be working. I hadn’t tried the tool for a while so perhaps an older version left something behind that confused the issue. Regardless, I’ll let it run and see how well it handles a large library. Thanks for continuing to work on this project!
I miss ExportTools and the WebTools find missing/unmatched/not indexed in DB capability. I mentioned these sometime last year as functionality to be added. I started learning Python a few months ago so I could give it a go myself, but life had other plans for me healthwise.
I’m back doing things on a simple daily schedule so I’ll try to pickup where I left off. Regardless, I’ll report back if the poster export I’m trying has any more issues. Thanks!
Since the new WebTools-NG is client/server based, we do not have a direct access to the file system anymore
Almost everything from that should be part of this tool, and it also allows you to customize your own levels
Yes, I remember that being mentioned last year, regarding the WebTools functions that I used regularly. The unmatched function in Plex itself takes care of one of those.
And yes, the ExportTools functionality is looking good so far. I’m actually using a custom created level for the export I’m trying right now, so we’ll see. It’s going to take a long time to run with my large libraries.
Is there a recommended maximum number of exports we should aim for in each run? Like 1000 per export? 5000 per export?
Nope…
I actually made the possibility to limit stuff due to a memory issue, that is fixed now in csv export, and the reason why xlsx export is currently disabled.
But decided to keep it, since I use it when testing, since I then can limit the export time to specific medias, when developing ![]()

New Release V0.3.16
In version V0.3.16, we are releasing a brand new module, called View State Copy
What this module does, is it allows you to copy the stats of what a user has been watching to another user on the same server. We include both the amount of times an item has been watched, as well as timestamp if still in progress
For more info, @trumpy81 has made a nice Wiki entry that you can find here
In ExportTools module, we now include 2 new fields, named PMS Media Path and PMS Metadata Path
From the full change log:
Happy Plexing, and note it’s a 3rd. Party tool, and grab it here:
Is there any chance of re-integrate .xlsx format?
I hope so, just not my biggest priority, since Excel can read CSV format
Thanks for the reply. And thank you very very much for making this awesome software. It helps a lot to maintain my library.
![]()
Thank for you for producing this tool! Honestly, I believe this is the type of tool that should be built-in to Plex. Why? Because it is a tools that empowers Plex admins; the goal Plex had from the beginning. This tool grants us the ability to manage our servers as proper admins.
WebTools-NG doesn’t violate any proprietary Plex assests, but WebTools-NG does give admins more control over their own content.
Thank you.
Hi there,
This is not specific to 0.3.17, but would there be any option to have ExportTools write data to fixed file names?
Currently, with the the number of items exported + the time stamp added to the file name, it is impossible to automate CSV imports in Access
The cherry on the cake would be to have a checkbox allowing to choose from fixed/variable file names
Note that this would be nothing more than a nice to have (but would be appreciated anyway
)
And again, thanks a million for the tool, it is definitely a must have with PMS
Good idea, so added this:
Is it possible to use WebTools-NG to to get an overview of which movies in my library have Dolby Atmos?
Yes, look here for codec: Fields · WebTools-NG/WebTools-NG Wiki · GitHub
I have tried but do not see anything about Atmos. What should it say if that movie has Atmos?
Media Audio Codec says “truehd”, but some truehd movies have Atmos and others dont.
We report what is found here:
And that’s all we can get from the PMS
@TBJ Plex does not identify Atmos tracks, either TrueHD Atmos or Dolby Digital Plus Atmos.
You would need to add “Atmos” or some other keyword to the audio track title in the movie file, then look at that field when pulling information via Webtools-NG. You can modify the metadata using the Header Editor in MKVToolNix or similar tools.
MediaInfo does recognize Atmos audio tracks, both TrueHD and Dolby Digital Plus. It has a command line interface. You could probably script it to scan the movies in a given directory and report which have Atmos enabled audio tracks. You could also use the GUI to examine individual files.
