What does the Netscout report mean for us?

Netscout released a report saying the Plex servers are being used for DDOS amplification:

What does this mean for those of us running servers? Are we at risk of losing remote access? Will we be blocked from websites our servers are used to attack? Is there any way to mitigate this without losing/damaging remote access?
